I'm Brian, just like Obi and Poppinchan I'm from Ottawa. I'm not as hardcore a popper as they are but I'm trying to learn as much as I can from them.

started popping back in 2001 but then switched over to bboying probably in 2003-2004. I pick it back up once in a while. Poppinchan is part of the reason why. He's trying to build a popping community in Ottawa. I think it's pretty important to have a popping community in order for popping to thrive in the city. Too bad I never thought of doing something like that when I was popping way back when. It probably would have kept me popping rather than convert to bboying.

Hey Brian!
Welcome to the forum! B-boying and popping? That's a sick combo, bet your ground moves for popping are off the hook!
Keep it funky!

actually it's hard for me to get into popping after bboying and hard to bboy after popping. They're such different types of movements. It's weird when the bboy gestures come out by accident when I'm popping. Kind of embarrassing actually. I always thought of popping as more of a finesse dance than bboying and I sort of feel very awkward and wrong when I accidentally put bboying into my popping.
