you guys know i want to be in the crew more than anything.

i requested the day off earlier, but apparently they already had the schedule set in stone when i asked. i called all down the available employee board today trying to find a replacement. we shall see.

i don't know what i'm going to do. ugh.

if there's any way i can come to practice afterwards and learn the audition piece, or something like that...i'd do anything (legal, or maybe not) for that chance.

I feel you Pringles. I was hoping to come back to check out DS Players old and new, but it turns out I'm in a wedding that same day. At least I can get down on the dance floor there... just in a tux instead of a zoot.

That being said, I completely agree with Lil B. To anyone interested in funk styles--popping and/or locking--at ANY skill level, I strongly encourage you to check out this audition. You can see what the styles and the group are about, meet friendly funky people, get training tips, and be inspired in general. Plus I'm sure it'll be a good workout to burn some Labor Day BBQ calories.

If you're not ready or able to join the team, you can see the audition format and get feedback to better prepare you for next time. And if you do join, you will improve for sure (and the price for the amount of training is a bargain!). So just show up, talk to some folks, ask questions, and of course have fun getting down (what it's all about)!

I'd have to second what lil b & j hiro say about checking out the auditions. It may SOUND challenging/intimidating, but everyone's super friendly, and there's really nothing to lose. You get to meet lots of people, learn some choreo, and get down with others, regardless of skill. No one's there to judge (well, except for the judges! hahah), but even THEY are really humble and supportive of ALL dance skill levels. If anything, they WANT to see more people interested in learning how to improve themselves. So come on out!!! :)

Big thanks to everybody who made this event. Thanks dennis and ceech for the choreography and thank you christine for the registration and numbers! Also thanks to the judges who came out too! It was a lot of fun to audition with so many great dancers. I'm sure we all had a blast, regardless of the outcome :D I know I did, that is fo damn sho sonnnnnnnn:)

Wow.

What an experience. This audition was BY FAR the warmest, grooviest, funkiest get together of dancers for a formal activity. I felt really welcome, made great connections with peers, and learned a lot. Good job to everyone, regardless of the outcome I think I found a family of dancers to learn and connect with.
