Yoo!
Wassup ya'll?
well, as some people asked, I'm gonna tell something about the brazilian's urban dances scene!
I went to São Paulo last week to a really gr8 event, it's called "Hot Moves".
Hot Moves is a project idealized by the german Niels “Storm” Robtizky. He decided to create the project 'cause he noted that most people know something about the urban dance culture, but even the hip hop new generation have so many information about the origins, vocabulary and things like that.
His objective with this project is to inform people that go to the theaters and see a urban dance perform about the history, the culture and the many urban dances and it's technics.
Hot Moves has a TV show format but it's recorded at a theater and brings to the stage dancers that tell about their careers and the dance scene in general. The dancers even do their performaces in the stage.
Frank Ejara is the one who brang the project here to brazil, and is doin' a really gr8 job!
The last "Hot Moves" was in 29th july, last tuesday.
At this program, Frank Ejara and his guests talked about locking, the history, how it came to sight and things like that, and I had the grrrrr8 opportunity to see some incredible lockers as Jeff, from Discipulos do Ritmo, Flip, from Discipulos do Ritmo and Funk Fanáticos and a crew called "Chemical Funk", really nice guys! Oh, The Face Crew was there too!
There was a interview with Greg Campbellock, recorded the last time he came to Brazil, really cool!
