Whats up everybody, this is Brian Lim aka deuceboogie. I have been a big fan of the funkstyles since high school, but never really got into it so seriously until a year back maybe. As cool as this sounds, i really first got into dancing because of N Sync, and that sexy ass Justin Timberlake guy. I wanted to be him. My gangster friends and I memorized their routines, and became the life of the parties. Than all of a sudden puberty hit, boy bands werent cool anymore, and school and work put a hiatus to my dancing.
Moved out to Martinez about two years ago, just had a really nasty breakup of a longtime relationship, and just felt like i needed a change of pace from the hustle and bustle that is Daly City. Out here in sunny martinez, boredom got a hold of me, and i started to dance in my garage. Started going to funkanometrysf classes with some friends, but i never really felt comfortable in the hip hop choreo style. It was missing the hard hits that i love about popping and the boogaloo grooves.
I started putting together monthly sessions with some bboys, but i never really had any friends that were into the funkstyles. Found nustudios again, thanks to Magic Mike, who found me lost in the WCP forums. I was a member of nustudios years back, and i am so glad that it is back up. Learned about the groovmekanx classes and sessions on the boards and decided to hit them.
So i went for the first time last mondays session, and it was like the greatest time of my dancing life. I got to meet some of my idols, some of the bay cats i have always heard about, and made alot of new friends. So im going to be a regular there every monday, so if you see me, say hello and introduce yourself, im pretty friendly, i dont bite, unless you like it like that. Giggle.
I hope to continue to improve my dancing skills, because i love to dance. Its my biggest passion in life, im always thinking about dancing, i cant help but groove everywhere i go. I am a very humble guy, and i want to learn and absorb as much as i possibly can. IM HUNGRY!
