Sup guys and gals.

Name's MikeyP and i've been dancing for around 6 years now, locking for a li'l over 3 years. I"m originally from all up and down the east coast of the US spending the majority of my time in and around Philadelphia PA. I moved out here to the bay as an experiment in self reliance, and everything has panned out better than i could have ever imagined.

Here in the bay i dance for Groovmekanex (www.groovmekanex.com) and DS Players (durrr.....) all locking, cause thats what i luvs. However i'm teaching myself more stuff as i go along, got so many resources out here i'm trying to make use of all of them.

I started out doing liquid dancing with my orgional teachers the Liquid Pop Collective. The LPC introduced me to Lucas Lock, who was a member of the LPC (formally called Relic) and he was the first person to show me locking. From there i was sold. I was going to school about 4 hours away from any sort of dance scene, so once every 3 months i'd go to lucas show him what i was doing, he's critique, and i'd go back for another 3 months to work on what he told me. That cycle lasted about 2 years. In the meantime i started and managed a dance company at Penn State University called Raw Aesthetic Movements (RAM Squad), which is still working and performing at PSU today.

Lucas eventually introduced me to Shockalock of Lockism. I performed for him and he took me under his wing for about 6 months. **** happened and i decided to move out west. moved to the bay area, 3 months later i'm in the groovmekanex. The rest is history.

What helped me the most were sites like nustudios that put up tutorials on how to do certain moves and styles. I was so far away from the dance world that was my only contact. I am very happy to see this site up again for that, and other, reasons!!

-Can do a lot of good voice impersonations (i want to see him and Romy battle in this lol)

When I first saw this guy, I thought "Man, this guy HECKA looks like plock!!" haha. Now I realize how wrong I was. Plock hecka looks like Mikeyp! This guy is like the real life rocky, but for locking, and more trash talking. haha. Really chill, and he knows how to roll when we go to clubs. He taught me to be "mindful of my surroundings." hahaha. A funky guy wherever he gets down and a shaker of the heavens with his dancing.

I'm at a total loss for words about this guy...don't really know what to say....

Okay....MikeyP is just something else!!

Talk about dedication. This kat moved out to the Bay (sucka thought Sacramento was the Bay - hahaha - what? never heard of Google Earth??) from Philly so he could learn to get FUNKY!! Cause we ALL know they don't know nuthin about getting FUNKY in PHILLY!!! hahahaha - inside joke.....Well, he comes out here and drives over 2 hours each way EVERY FREAKIN MONDAY night so he could infiltrate our dance and take us over...little did he realize HE was the one showing US how to get down and we started stealing his moves and moving on up to further greatness...but back to the story, so the rest of us decide "Hey we're gonna force him to be a member whether he likes it or not!!" so we make this road trip down to Freestyle Session where all along he thinks he's just hanging with the cool people (cause we all conceited like that, right?) and then as we're filling out the forms and releases for the battle, he asks me about how he should put down for group name, "Honorary GroovMekanex??" I tell him "Put down GroovMekanex....and it is WE who are HONORED!!" ....so in that battle Mikey just TORE it UP!!!! My old @$$ took a break and let him do all the work (proof is in the video hehe). So we didn't win but, at least, it was to a fownky Japanese team and not somebody from Philly, right? Since then this dude just keeps on helping promote the group and getting down like you wouldn't believe! Always inspiring to see that in such a young kat.


..well like I said, I really don't know what to say about MikeyP!!


PS: At least I didn't say anything about the spicy foods. Whew, almost blew that.
