Good question, but a tough guestion. But I would have to say that Breaking was one of my favorite just coz the dancing. I know the story was not up to par but at the time, the whole school was taking about.

ok guess its time for me to defend my decision.
1st and foremost. It was the first movie to feature street dancing, the scene in the ally is what it is most iconic for. Landmark for that reason.
2nd of all i'm a sucker for the story. Lady doing whatever it takes just to dance and being accepted in that world. cause its like breathing. "if you let go of your dreams, you die" i think was the quote. Working in a freaking steel plant welding **** together and spending all her spare time trying to get into an academy and showing people what she does is amazing. Forgetting everything else and goin after a dream. **** yea!
3rd, takes place in Pittsburgh PA. which is a shithole, and i get great joy out of seeing it portrayed as such.
4th: WHAT A FEELING!!!!
I love breakin lots man. How can't i. But i like it mainly because its so easy to laugh at. Van damme.....the outfits.....the quotes; "YOU DONT KNOW HOW I FEEEEEELL!!", the shitty acting,. not sayin i hate it, just 2nd best. :D

Wild Style. Ok, its not cause of the dancing, but it did feature that part where they interview Rock Steady. And so many quotes throughout...
For dancing Im going to have to agree with everyone else and say Breakin'
It has Boogaloo Shrimp, what more can I say?

I haven't seen any classic dance movies or ones I should probably see BUT, I do enjoy peepin' Rize. It's cool to see how dance is the way of life and for many it takes the place of getting into trouble or gangs or somethin of the sort. Especially growin' up in low income neighborhoods.
I liked You Got Served. The dancing was pretty dope even though the story/acting was whack.
Shall We Dance? (Japanese version) was good all around.
I only saw Breakin' like a few years ago. It really had a lot of sick dancing in there but I dunno about the acting or the story. If I probably watched it when I was younger, it wouldn't have come off as cheesy.
I really wanna see Planet B-Boy.

I liked Showgirls. Actually I liked Save the Last Dance. NOT

Old stuff
-Stormy Weather (Bill Robinson, Cab Calloway, Nicholas Brothers!!!! Enough said)
-Beat Street (loved the battle in the club)
-Breakin 1 (Boogaloo Shrimp was illll)
-Wreckin Shop in Brooklyn (the original Hip-Hop dance documentary. Every Hip-Hop dancer HAS to know about this video. I always heard about it growing up and finally saw the whole thing maybe 5 yrs ago. CHANGED MY LIFE! haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s4i_cj2Nzo)
-House of Trey (House dance documentary in the 90s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGwzoJ7LFMs)
-House Party (Kid N Play classic! Do you smell something? I think I smell P***y!!!!) hahaha
Recent:
-Freshest Kids (dope bboy documentary, I also want to see Planet B-boy)
-Maestro (this is more on house music in new york, but theres a segment that featured the dancers as well.
Upcoming documentary:
-Sunz of James Brown: (street dance documentary revolving around the relation of James Brown and street dance today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg_YSBq_Zqo Keep an eye out for this one!)

oh man, i had to rent all those for my thesis. even paris is burning. i talked about how beat street and wild style were more true-to-form representations while breakin and breakin 2 commercialized things, excluded other forms of hip-hop and helped turn the b-boy into a mainstream 80s fad.
i think i still have it somewhere. it was pretty much The Freshest Kids on paper.
HEY YOU, THE ROCK STEADY CREW

My favorite dance movie was this 1970's one about some hispanic kid named Raul using his dance skills to stay out of the cholo gang mess around him.
He would always have to bail his younger brother out of problems cause he liked the gang life. Well, the gang leader was also a dancer who secretly really just wanted Raul to show him some moves to get good, but because of street pride BS wouldn't come out and say so. Better to be a bad ass instead.
The scenes with the cutups in the clubs and schools were just siiiick. The strutting, robotting, and locking was un-freaking-real!!! There wasn't even any breakin' in it.
Then came that opportunity to win a spot on a TV show where the grand prize was a whopping $5000. Was so cool to see how Raul used his abilities to prove to the gang leader that there was more to street life than crime!
That skill, in this case, DANCE skill could beat all odds!!
God, that movie was AWESOME!!!
Was called Street Beat, who all saw it?
................................
.....................................
Oh yeah......I never got around to filming it. :D:D Never too late now...and we could even add bboying.

With the exception of the main kid MAGIC, BODY ROCK has some of the BEST dance scenes around!! Oh also the exception of Lorenzo Llamas as the lead. WTF were they thinking????!!?!!
I just happen to LOVE SHOWGIRLS!!! I don't care WTF anyone says, THAT is one of my absolute favorites!! Always joking about the "pushing down the stairs" bit. You got to watch the movie to know what I'm talking about hahaha
And MIKEY!! HOW DARE you use my all time FAVORITE LINE "YOU DON'T KNNNOOOOWWW HOW I FEEEELLL!!!" THAT alone makes Breakin one of my true favorite dance movies.
LOL!
