No, yo yo is not my name. haha. My name is John. In battles and competitions, I go by the name Shyguy so that people won't confuse me with the other millions of Johns.

I've been dancing since I was in college where I learned and created choreography for the filipino club there. One time, we had a gig up here in the bay area to perform and that was the first time I saw Ceech and his group. When I saw them do their locking and popping routines, I was completely blown away! I thought "So that's what REAL dancing looks like!!" As soon as I got back to college, I transferred up here to finish school and to get a fresh start on dancing.

I started off popping for a bit while learning a little bit of locking, but eventually fell in love with locking. Though locking is my main love, popping is still my mistress. haha. I still love doing both dances but usually just compete in locking.

I love going out to clubs too and just dancing (and doing a little drinking here and there.)

Yo John! You are one very cool and funky dancer. It's always fun to watch you get down and the way you do everything so precise. Also got some good techniques for practicing poppin man! I practice that chest stuf alot now! haha

If you don't know Shyguy, he's won the Hip Hop international locking championship. He is also the current Battle of Belt Locking champion, he has the Loose Caboose belt.

Yes, Shyguy is THE hardest working dancer! SERIOUSLY! To see his skills skyrockit (hehe Team Rockit) exponentially is inspiring! Dance is clearly his #1 priority, and it shows!! He's not only a great dancer, but a great teacher as well! He knows his foundations so well, he's able to break it down for you and find a million ways for you to practice it! He's always willing to practice and doesn't mind teaching newbies like me!! Oh, and he's SO FUN to go out w/when we go clubbing!! There's so many "John" moments and "Johnisms"... good times!! And have no fear, he'll give you the courage to jump into any circle, cuz if anyone tries to battle you, he'll be sure to destroy them....and with a smile! :)

what to say about johnny, he came off as a shyguy @ first.. very chill 2nd then when you hit 3rd stage its a whole new john all together, ladies if you wanna see 3rd stage u must get him drinks!! haha john very koo guy always up for random moments, when its getting sum food at 1am to heading out to golfland and playing initial d ( the only guy who messed up my record ) and King of the ddr dance pad clark kent!!!

I definitely agree with everyone here. I've known john for about 8 years already and he's always had this strong passion in himself with whatever he does. Obviously he's concentrating on dancing and it shows because all you see him do is dance haha. His appetite for dance can never be too full because he makes sure to learn from anyone he can. If you ever need inspiration to train harder or whats your next step (beginner to advanced), this is your man.
John likes a girl who has a passion for something and is also driven just like him to pursue that.

John is the reason I got into the Mission dance classes. He's an inspiration just to watch. You can tell he lives and breathes dance. What's even crazier is that he gets better each time you see him. When he first moved back to the Bay Area in the Summer of 2004, near the end of college, he lived at my house for a year. All he did was eat, sleep, and dance. He'd also watch Teen Titans late at night. But, I remember hearing him thumping on the floor with crazy dance steps from upstairs. He'd watch himself in a tiny closet mirror and practice. I knew he was dedicated, but dance is straight up life for him.

If you want to train, train with John. He'll kick your ass. But you'll get better.

Shyguy is ridiculous on the dance floor. great skills and technique on the dance floor. reminds me i have a lot more to do. play hard work hard, and a nice guy. get to know him, he can teach you a great deal.

John is a crazy awesome dancer and a very awesome guy! He is a super great teacher and is always willing to help others out. He's always dancing and he practices every chance he gets and if you see him get down you'll see how much his hard work really pays off! I have a LONG way to go if I want to be as great of a dancer as he is but I am so willing to train as hard as i can to get there cuz it is worth it! :D

I hella look up to this dude. When I first started the taking ceech's class and john would TA, I normally would try to imitate how he busted the moves. He's a dancer in every sense of the word. he works mad hard, and it really shows.

He's normally mafia too. But if he ain't, it's probably safer to think he is.
